>OK I don't have a desire to read the blog. Making a cursor updatable is a simple task and I have samples posted in the past. You can use scopwe_identity() or better yet use GUID as ID which yiu can create and insert before sending to server.

You're not answering my question. We do know how to make the cursor updatable. However, it is still not clear how using this technique and simple tableupdate can we get the newly inserted ID back.
In other words, after the cursor is made updatable, you can use any VFP techniques to add a new record to the cursor and it gets added then you issue tableupdate. How can you get back the ID of this newly added record by this technique?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
