I noticed (while looking to see if there as fan control software like that I found for my Dell; didn't find any) that here have been bios and chipset updates that change the fan algorithm, so if you haven't update the bios and chipset driver, that would be a place to start.

>I have a HP Pavilion dv5000. As soon as the room temperature reaches 23 degrees Celcius, the fan keeps running. But, by running, I mean, it never stops. Last summer, I heard that one all summer long. Now, it has just started again because we got some changes in the outside temperature. Is there a setting somewhere to try to adjust that?
