>>>>The way I see it, who cares what's posted on the machine? If the machine says she won 43 mill, then she won 43 mill. For all anyone knows, they forgot to change the sign. Pay up, I say! (Not you, of course, them!)
>>>
>>>You know me, always rushing to the defense of corporations ;-) I really think if the casino pays this woman 215K everyone will be happy. Wouldn't you be happy -- delighted -- if you hit a 215K jackpot at a casino? $43 million is a heck of a lot of money for a technical glitch.
>>
>>Sure I'd love to hit a 215K jackpot. I'd love 43 mill more. But to me, that's neither here nor there. The machine said she won 43 million. If the machine had said she won nothing, would the casino operators have jumped up and said, "There must be a glitch! Here's 215K for your trouble."? Unlikely. When the machine says you won nothing, or you won a couple hundred bucks, the casino is real happy. Tough for them. If the machine says 43 mill, then 43 mill it should be.
>
>Following that logic...
>All slot machines have the words "Malfunction Voids all Payouts" written clearly on their display. Since this was clearly a malfunction, the casino would be within their legal rights to give her nothing.
>
>The posted jackpot of 215k seems worth pursuing, not the $43mil "malfunction". ;)

I agree and I'll repeat what I wrote previously: if it is clearly posted, then she should be paid 215K...
