It's been a while since I've used phdBase, but I believe the phdBase I/O errors don't map back to regular VFP error numbers. Instead they map to the error return codes of FERROR() so you are barking up the wrong tree with "To many Files open" , the correct error message is actually "Invalid File Handle"
