>>>>>>>>>Wondering if anyone here bought an iPad & what they think of it...
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>I pre-ordered the WiFi+3G, so I don't have mine yet. I went to the Apple store to play with it. It's AWESOME! I may buy another one, since I know my wife will always be hogging this one up.

>>>>>>>>Trust me, if you had one, you would love it. It is a no brainer. If you like computers, you'll like this thing, hands-down.

I just have no desire to spend $ (and definitely not 500.00) for a tool that is really only good for browsing and email and running their silly apps - no matter how fancy or nice or intuitive the interface is. I don't get it. If you do, great. It obviously is a great fun toy for many. I have a friend who buys every single wonderful Apple gadget there is (which is how I manage to test them) and even buys other toys (like huge telescopes and cameras etc). I haven't been really impressed yet. I have to have real bang for my buck and the features or stuff have to be something I really want or need.

>>>>>>Don't forget it's a reader as well. Millions have spent $250 a pop for Amazon's Kindle, which is only a reader, and inferior to the iPad even at that. (Smaller screen, black and white only, no way to switch between one page portrait and two page landscape views by turning it, etc.)

>>>>I don't imagine an HDTV looks too hot in bright light, either. Does that mean no one should buy one?
>>>
>>>That statement is actually pretty hilarious :o) How is that relevant? How many HDTVs are purchased to carry everywhere and be used everywhere? Do you carry your hdtv with you and use it on the train, in the coffee shop, or anywhere? Was it marketed for that? :o)

>>>:o)
>>
>>No more hilarious than True Unbelievers (bending a phrase from Charles) dissing the iPad because it may not be good in bright sunlight. "Take it anywhere" is not actually a literal phrase. SUVs have greater portability than most vehicles, but that doesn't mean you can drive one across the Mississippi River. Cell phones can't be used in every location. Etc.
>
>S T R A W M A N alert. :o) You're kidding right? One is advertised and marketed as a mobile device, the other is not. SUVs are not marketed or advertised as something to use to drive across the Mississippi River so I do not see any parallel there... :o) Next thing you will be coming up with negative names for everyone who makes any statement not completely positive and supportive of the iPad or Apple just like you have for anyone who dares to say or write anything not completely positive or supportive of you political positions. What happened to your criticial thinking ability????? :o) Put the koolaid down and step away from the glass before it is too late! :o)

Same logic behind people critical of Obama being labeled racist. Gotta come up with something.
