I'm copying Doug on this because I want to mention a name that no one (to many knowledge) has mentioned: Les Pinter.
I go all the way back to (close to) the beginning, with FoxBase in 1987/1988. I used a great deal of Les' content in my first 5-6 years with Fox. He wrote some great books and a good newsletter with valuable code that helped MANY developers. I always enjoyed talking to Les at conferences. Regardless of Les' work wih .NET, Les belongs in a "VFP Hall of Fame".
