When I first moved to Florida (Orlando - 1983) I saw so many "Florida Native" bumper stickers that I was sure I would qualilfy after living there for five years or so.

But Orlando wasn't "really" Florida, it was more "Midwest South" than Florida and had few of what I would consider "Southern" traditions.

When I moved to Tallahassee (1993) the bumper stickers disappeared and the style seemed much more "Southern" to me. Of all the places I've lived over the past 35 years or so, Tallahassee would be my choice to return to.

The major difference would be sports rooting interests. I'd probably remain a SF fan for pro sports (9ers, Giants, maybe Warriors) and college rooting interests would remain Hawkeyes, whoever is playing Texas, whoever is playing Florida, and then the Noles.
