>I go running once after eons of sitting on my butt and I get on fire about running. Typical. Here's hoping it sticks and I get back in runner's shape again. I will never regain the shape I was in in my early 30s, when I ran four marathons, but I can sure get in better shape than I am. It makes me feel great to feel the wind under my feet.

I'm not as dedicated as I used to be to running ... at least during the winter months. But, with the weather turning nicer, I've been better about getting out ... almost, but not quite, every day. I don't run as far as I used to either ... currently only doing 2 and a half miles, but maybe I'll bump it up to 3 in a few weeks. We'll see.

I was never into the marathons ... I typically did 5K runs when I lived in Napa. The longest run I used to regularly do was the 12K "Bay To Breakers" in SF ... that was always a crazy run ... lots of fun!

>Last night I made a slow re-entry. The first mile was very slow. Painful, if you want to know the truth. Legs like logs. When I was within half a mile of home I tried a kick, my old habit. It was not exactly beautiful but some muscle memory plugged in and it felt great. Am I sore today? You betcha ((c) Sarah Palin).

>19.32. That was an awesome number, shattering the existing world record in the 200 meters.

>As it turned out, the record that would last forever lasted only 12 years. Usain Bolt, a.k.a. Lightning Bolt, took it to a whole new level in Beijing. Amazing. Guys that tall aren't supposed to run that fast.
