>>>You seem to be on the verge of bloodshed all the time. I actually like you but maybe you should calm down. The anger is not good for you.

>>I think anger, like every emotion, is useful and necessary. Focused anger, properly wielded, can lead to remarkable accomplishments. See the tea party, not the current one, the original. The current one is far too young to judge, but hopefully the rising anger in this country can be focused and harnessed in enough time to pull us back from the brink. We'll see.

>I do not find the anger of the modern Tea Party useful or necessary. As has been observed before, these are angry people to begin with who just needed an outlet. Look at the pictures of them! Red faces, muscles bulging in their necks. A surprising number of them female. White, it goes without saying. We have the prototypical Tea Partyer right here on this forum and I don't think you will have to wonder too long who I mean.

Your impression is wildly different from mine. Note : I have not attended a tea party rally personally as I've been too busy.
As you may have guessed I've been invited a few times. What has surprised me is who is doing the inviting. One of my accountants, conservative but no way politically active invited me to the tax day rally. My mothers friend, a registered Democrat has joined a local tea party group. A couple local farmers, who are quite active in local issues, are now focusing nationally.

Tip O'Neill said "all politics is local". For the first time in my adult life I'm seeing that play out. Not by the politically active but by the usually passive. Granted I live in a rural area and those around me tend to lean right, however, the level of anger and activity is unprecendented. Mind you a great deal of that anger has been building in California for several years due to the blatantly union-owned corruption of our gerrymandered leaders.

I know this is the single most important election of my life so far. I know the stakes are no less than the very direction of our country towards Europe or towards America. What's pleasantly surprising is how many others are waking up to this fact as well. The American people may take a few kicks in the butt to wake up and get going but when they resolve to do something they tend to do it very well.
