Yep - quite true. I've had both family and friends that got screwed over because of so called "eminent domain". Obviously that isn't always the case and sometimes eminent domain is necessary - like when Highway I-70 took my grandparents place they'd lived in for a zillion years - that one worked out well - they got paid more than what their property was worth plus ...duhh...everyone needed I-70. Now when a shopping mall wants to be built and they just force you out like what happened to a friend of mine - well that's bogus and people need to stand up and shout.
