This has nothing to do with whether .Net is a good tool etc. I am just interested in people's perspective or experience with Delphi and how effective it might be in replacing VFP when combined with the Advantage Database server.

Delphi with Advantage was a primary configuration at one of my employers and I still see it in other places today. It was not as strong as VFP with data munging, but other than that a very good tool and backend for replacing VFP with local tables. I spent a few years programming in Delphi as well and enjoyed it. Not the same developer strengths as the VFP IDE though I must say.

However, I agree with Metin. While the charts don't appear to reflect it (yet), I see more and more Delphi/Advantage apps going over to .net and sqlserver. At least one every couple of weeks almost. I'm not so sure that I would be putting my eggs in that basket.
