Fascinating article. I think a lot here don't really appreciate what a wonder the NFL is just in terms of hard-headed business acumen. The ability to keep the league competitive through the current draft system is considered a big part of keeping the golden goose fat and healthy. Sharing TV revenue is another keystone.
The NFL is a big industry - and probably one of the best examples of true merit and performance based success in all of capitalism.
