I've seen the Panasonic Toughbook H1 (and U1 series) - Atom Z540 (or 520), 1-2GB Ram running VFP apps and syncing with a server miles away. Some of them run the same OS as the netbooks. It can be done. It all depends on the requirements of your app. Those toughbooks are expensive BTW...
