>>Nope. I don't feel safer, just more inconvenienced. There was some good police work done last weekend after the failed Time Square attack but the guy still managed to get on a plane for Dubai (and then Pakistan). The plane had pulled away from the gate with him on it despite his being on the no fly list. I think it was Mayor Bloomberg who said we shouldn't be depending on luck as a homeland security strategy.

Maybe this is hypocritical of me given my position on Hispanics who have been living illegally in the U.S. (Meaning the ones who were here before they became popular pinatas for free floating anger at our diminished place in the world). If customs, homeland security, and other officials are not profiling young Arabic males, they should be.

I'm not saying don't let them in. I'm not saying discriminate against Muslims as a class. What I am saying is be very cautious with these young guys, even if they are new citizens. That;s the profile -- sleeper cells. There have been enough bona fide incidents that they have peed in the pool for the rest. Well, tough. I don't want them anywhere near the opportunity to park an explosive filled vehicle in Times Square again. Or anywhere else in the U.S.
