And previously they did not deport the parents. That is why we had/have thousands crossing the border to have their children here so they can be citizens. As long as it is possible, they will continue to do so. Not sure what the best answer is there. It has always been a problem. They used to let the parents stay until the children turned 18 and then deport them. It just increased the number crossing the border to do the same. Now they are deporting some of the parents regardless and that is terrible for the children. Not sure what the best answer to that issue is...

Vacationers, those here on work visas and especially illegals should not expect US citizenship for children born here.
