>>Yes, but the way you design the web pages is quite different. WWC5 compared to WWC4 is like VFP9 compared to FPD.

>That's correct -- I've used both versions, and now I am using WWC5 with VS.NET exclusively. Once you get the hang of it it is nothing short of amazing. You do your GUI design on VS.NET (2005, 2008 or even 2010,) and business layer with VFP9 (Yes! You can use local cursors, SQL commands, record oriented commands, and all of the other data munging stuff VFP does so well and effortlessly.) Tweaking and testing GUI is ridiculously easy -- as long as you don't need to change business layer stuff, you simply keep the West Wind server running, modify your .NET screen and redraw the page (refresh doesn't always work too well, but you can have your test page as a favorite and easily redraw it from there.)

>The help file is pretty good and has some tutorials, although there are a few places where folder names jump around which can cause extreme confusion when you try to build your first app. But once you get it going, it is really, really easy.

Thank you for your extended comment. I don't feel comfortable enough with my English to write so much myself. But my small number of questions on Rick's message board should be a good indicator of how easy it is to use WWC5. <g>

>>>The basic theories on how it works should still be the same.

>>>>AFAIK the book is completely outdated, unless it has been updated within the last year or two. With WWC5 you typically use Visual Studio to design the forms, with earlier versions of WWC there is no form designer at all.
