Jorge,
If your dbc is a VFP dbc, and by extension your tables are VFP tables, there is no way native to VFP to lock up the tables unless you are calling from the app. Anyone with VFP can access and therefor hose your data. SQL Server gives you a bit more security, but again there are ways.
The question at hand is how secure is secure enough? If you are concerned about casual intrusion, (ex. Somebody accidentally deleting your data from the Explorer) one way is to move the data away from the application folders. By putting it in a secluded location you reduce the potential for accidental intrusion. If on the other hand you are trying to prevent a concerted effort to damage or steal your information, I'm afraid your options are few. The best, and simplest method is to restrict access to the pc's themselves. A determined thief can break into anything you can come up with, but it takes time. If you can deny them that time you make your job much easier. Again, the question at hand is what are you trying to prevent?
