My guess is, you haven't looked at the current tools or you've been doing it wrong. If you've been using a WinForms design mentality in WPF, you're doing it wrong.

With Winforms, the concept is "create a form and send the data to it". With WPF, it's "I have this data and want to apply a display template to it".

The only thing you should really be doing is putting the controls on a form. Templates should be doing everything else.

There are some good videos on WPF and WPF LOB apps at http://www.pdsa.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?cat=36. (They aren't free, but aren't expensive either.)

>I’ll stay in the holdout line. When M$ actually refines this technology to the point where it has any value in line of business applications I may climb on board. Right now the only thing WPF will do for my shop is ensure that we get half as much done in double the amount of time. When WPF has full designer support and is as easy to use as winforms then I may jump ship. When it allows me to code faster I may jump ship. I see no value for WPF in line of business applications.
