I'd have to say LUCKY instead of resilient. Hmmm....let's turn this around. You're a skilled poker player and I barely know the difference between a royal flush and a toilet flush. I seem to recall joking around once and saying that winning at poker was largely luck - you corrected me and said luck has nothing to do with it. <s>
Coming back from 0-3 down in games (AND also coming back from a 3-0 deficit after 15 minutes of the final game) has never happened. This team doesn't have the best players - but they have some very good players - and are the grittiest, gutsiest team I've ever seen. They seem to play their best when their backs are against the wall. (They did not even qualify for the playoffs until the final game of the season).
I also think they get energy from their fans. Yes, they're ugly when their team loses - but a mountain of support when they're winning or trying to come back.
I know your feelings on highly-paid sports pros (and sometimes I can't blame you for your views, given some of their behavior), but hockey players are arguably the toughest of them all (and also don't command the insane salaries that you see in other sports)
p.s. Remember, you're buying the burgers and beer tomorrow
