The NHL playoffs have been insane in the east. Not only did the Flyers come all the way back, the Canadiens knocked off the team with the best record and the defending champions back to back. The west has gone to form. As a Hawks fan, I have kind of a bad feeling about the Sharks series. I know the Hawks won three of four regular season games but I worry about their goaltending and their youth. The Sharks are not going to let them hang around in the goal mouth like the Canucks did, either.

I picked the Hawks before today started and I'm sticking with it. I am very impressed with them. Once in awhile they play a clunker of a game, but when they get rolling, they are hard to stop. Plus, Nabakov is just another playoff choker like Luongo. I think Niemi gets better as the series progresses. I honestly think if the Hawks had possessed better goaltending last year, they would have beaten Detroit in the west finals.

I'm still stunned that the Flyers crushed the Habs tonight...game 2 won't be quite so easy. But it's hard to believe that if the Flyers win Game 2, they are likely going to play in the finals.
