That is my understanding - you can hack it to get 80mpg easy and even as much as 100mpg - BUT it will cause you to have to replace the batteries in the vehicle sooner (a lot sooner I suspect).

50 - 60mpg - yeah I'd be happy with that. I'd REALLY like to have one of those all electric Tesla sports cars - but they cost like $90,000.
