In fact most med to large orginazations I’ve worked with will have an established resolution that they run throughout the organization.

Bear in mind that WPF addresses two 'resizing' issues: not only the pixel adjustment based on monitor resolution but also the resizing of individual controls (or groups of controls) when a window is re-sized.
FWIW I've been working with WPF for about two years and would not, to put it mildly, enjoy what I can only describe as 'reverting' to Winforms.....
