SSD - but make sure you get a GOOD one. Up until quite recently there were huge differences in performance between SSDs; some SSDs in some not-uncommon usage scenarios were actually worse than mid-range magnetic HDs.
Bear in mind, if you get an SSD from a laptop OEM, they'll likely give you the cheapest 128GB unit they can find. Hopefully it won't be a poor-performance unit left over from the "bad old days".
