Jos,

I'm developing on and distributing apps for Win7 64bit.

For distributed apps, make sure editable config files are in the %appdata% folder rather than in the program files (x86) folder, since you cannot write to the program files folders without being admin.

In development, I run VFP using XP compatibility mode so that dialog/window positions on the screen are retained. There are other ways, but this works fine.

If you're not already I strongly recommend you use inno install for your Win7 work rather than the generic installer that came with VFP. Inno gives you much better control over installation options especially if you use IsTool. Sample configurations for VFP runtimes, UAC management etc are readily available on the Fox wiki or via Google.

I do not have the hotfix and have not experienced issues.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
