Interesting Matt, one question, have you looked at PostgreSQL instead of MySQL?

I have been using PostgreSQL for about 1 year now, and it's awesome, in my point of view is more enterprise ready than MySQL and also completely FREE. Also the PostgreSQL group (the main developers) are really professionals and have a clear RoadMap for the future, you may want to read about it now that you started to play outside Microsoft world, specially now that Oracles owns Sun.
