The general rule seems to be to display it in the way it would be used in the native country.
So U.S. dollars would be $1,000,000 ; Euros 1,000,000€ UK Sterling £1,000,000 etc regardless of context in which they are being used....

Or use the other convention 1,000,000USD , 1,000,000EUR, 1,000,000GBP etc ?
