>>>Hmmm.... Sounds more like nobama trying to figure out which way to go..
>>
>>He has lots of ideas on where to go. Unfortunately he also has a minority party determined to block every one of them, even ones which should have bipartisan appeal. I hope after the Repubs make their grubby pickups in November they become more reasonable. I doubt their constituents sent them to Washington to make sure nothing gets done.

>You really are amazing.... Nobama promised openess and trasnparency and inclusion... he has done none of that.. he excluded the republicans from every closed door session on health care reform planning and on every other major topic. He is huffing and puffing that the republicans are the problem and you buy it hook, line, and sinker...

Excluding Republicans from closed door health care reform planning was Pelosi and Reed, not Obama. Now if you want to say he should been more involved earlier than he was, then I would probably agree with you. I think he was trying to learn from the mistakes of the Clinton reform effort. Bill and Hill basically drafted a 1000 page piece of legislation on their own and dumped it on the Capitol steps as a fait accompli. Congress, rightfully considering legislation their bailiwick, promptly devoured it. So I think Obama was wise to avoid that approach. But IMO he should have reacted sooner and more forcefully to rein in the old style pols in his own party. Sometimes I wish he had more LBJ in him. Which is to say, someone who can inspire fear when necessary. Nobody seems to fear him.

He has also not done as good a job on transparency as he said he would, agreed.

If he says Republicans are the problem -- and has he really said that? -- well, he has a point. They ARE part of the problem. Blind obstructionism is not the way to go in times as troubled as these. Let's not forget the Tea Party, as wacky as they are and as short lived as they will be, are nearly as angry at Republicans as they are at Democrats.
