I have a property in my framework about enabling the display of a dollar value accordingly to the language. So, when this property is ON, based on the language in used, this will be done automatically. But, at the user level, this can also be a setting. So, in such a case, it would then bypass the site setting. But, this would be up to the site owner to decide. Some prefers to have a fix display of the dollar values instead of allowing a logged user to have his own.

But, having started the thread, I learned some new things. Yes, it is true that going worldwide, other conventions could apply.
