Close to unhittable most of the time.

My dad met him years ago. My dad was at some company function at a country club and Koufax was there playing tennis. (Evidently tennis is no problem for arthritic shoulders <g>). Either Koufax had a summer place in Maine or the woman he was dating had one, one or the other. It wasn't a long conversation at all, just a handshake and "I really enjoyed watching you pitch." He said the two most memorable things about the encounter were that Koufax is not that big a guy and that he was wearing a beard.
