>>>So BP is still trying to cap the well?
>>>
>>>They haven't tried yet - they only have been trying to find a way to keep oil flowing to their refineries.
>>
>>At least they had the (in)decency to post on their web site:

"Since the environmental implications of the projects are not fully understood, BP assumes no liability for unexpected or unintended consequences of these projects">
>They may have a point. See message#
1467370Hmmm.... well, if a cop out counts as a point, maybe. Yes the Government was way too slow to respond, but let's face it, BP has the expertise, they caused the problem, they should be cleaning it up. It's not as if this was a natural disaster.
>>>
>>>If they were serious, they would have used the Soviet/Russian method to cap a well - an in-ground explosion near the wellhead will shift the floor and close it permanently. Of course, they won't get to keep siphoning off oil to sell.
>>>
>>>Meanwhile, the damage in the gulf will be catastrophic.
