I have done extensive testing of all three methods (and ADO) to connect to SQL Server and found that for the majority of what you need to do, there is no real difference between the methods as far as speed goes. The only time there was any real difference was using ADO to bulk load data.

Note that SQLEXEC and Remote View will both use ODBC to connect. Cursor Adapter can use ODBC or OLEDB (ADO).
