Though my Oracle administrative experience is limited, it is by choice since Oracle is such an unmitigated pain in the a$$ to work with.Certainly Oracle is less accessible coming from the Win camp. But the critique makes a good point that some SQL Server databases could be kept in Excel and should not be aggregated to compare with your average Oracle database.
A cynic might also observe that Oracle sells its databases to those who intend to use them- IOW no bundling into BackOffice or small business editions of operating systems.
