(And ON THIS I'll say strong hunch, but I'd bet a fancy steak dinner on it, though this one would be tough to prove either way).

I know that I purchased a Dell server last year that came bundled with SS and Exchange that I didn't want or use. That sort of "sale" wouldn't happen very often with Oracle. ;-)

Seems to me that MS's biggest challenge is the increasingly mobile future: MS dominance with which we've lived willingly and profitably for most of our working lives, isn't so sure any more. http://en.onsoftware.com/is-microsoft-now-officially-irrelevant/

Having said that, most of the future phones coming out of China use Win6.5 rather than Android. Even examples widely advertised for Android (eg Sciphone N12) eventually came out with Win6.5 and the few Android options are more expensive. Figure that one out.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
