>But this crap from Obama illustrates the type of leader (or lack) that he is. Today comes the direct Obama quote, "I would have fired BP's CEO". This is the same stuff he pulled when he worked in Illinois - sat back, contributed zero, and pointed fingers.
>
>There's little doubt that the CEO will resign or be forced out, after this is over. Obama has NO BUSINESS making these types of quotes - it actually harms the very company that is the only one that can fix this mess (and also has adversely affected the overall market). It is bad, incompetent leadership from our so-called president.

I disagree completely. The President of the United States has every business making these kind of comments.

Kevin, I respect you in alot of areas, but your unfounded hatred of Obama is mind boggeling. I have read so many of your posts where you tear into him over things that often are way out of his control, or not his fault, or just unfounded. No matter the situation, and and matter his response, you have done nothing but criticize him. The man can do no good in your eyes.

Obama has been down there 3 times. This crisis has only been going on for what, 6 or 7 weeks now. Bush and his crew did NOTHING about the Katrina disaster. Those people down there are still recovering from that. In 6 weeks Obama has been down there
3 times. Seems to me he's doing what a President should be doing - get involved and take charge. Taking charge doesn't mean he has to be an oil expert. It means he leading the way - just as he's doing.

FWIW, BP's CEO should resign. His comments clearly demonstrate the lack of concern or total ignorance of the magnitude of the situation that this guy has. Obama is pointing fingeres where they should be pointed, and he's making threats that need to be made. He's doing his job - keeping the pressure on BP. If he wasn't doing this, this would be another Katrina - years later nothing would be done. He's doing his job. That's the job of the government - protect the people.

From where I sit, I think Obama's handling this just fine.

I don't always agree with what Obama's doing, but he's all over this one.
