Yeah, there's heaps of MySQL out there running all sorts of stuff people might not expect- especially telephony. My first encounter was as part of the AsteriskAtHome project and I didn't even know it was being used for some months. ;-) Personally I'm still entertained by the reality that you can run MySQL, Apache, Samba, SSL, Sendmail, Spam Assassin, Procmail, Fetchmail, DHCP, FTP and Trixbox PBX on a PIII with <1gb RAM.
