Nancy,

Simple! I have a property in my abstract grid, lCanGetFocus, which if .F. prevents the grid from gaining focus by returning .F. from When(). The default setting of lCanGetFocus is .T.. I do not remember setting it to .F., but there it was. Probably the coding gremlins did it. It was actually your questions that tipped me off that that was what it had to be. Told you, REALLY, REALLY STUPID CODING ERROR. So simple that I could not figure it out for half a day.

regards,

JME

>Nononononono, James. NO FAIR! You have to tell us what it was! After all, I am prone to stupid coding and when I do what you did I want to have a heads up! C'mon, dish! < bg >

>>OK. I got it figured out. In the professional jargon it came under the category of REALLY, REALLY STUPID CODING ERROR. But I probably would not have seen it as quickly except for your insightful analyses.
