What I always found so funny was that in the EARLY episodes, Danny was at least moderately intelligent. But as time went along, they made him dumber and dumber and dumber.

Burt went back and forth...sometimes sharp, sometimes dumber than a bag of hammers.

And with Jody, in the first few episodes, he acted like a complete sissy. But his character ultimately grew a set.
