I disagree: Message #1468721 If Michel reinstates him, he has to change his policy and it has to apply to everyone.

>FWIW, Tamar, Tore and I received this email today :
>
>"You are the three people I talked with in email yesterday after impulsively asking Michel to boot me from the UT. (Which he did without comment, LOL). I am thinking that was not one of my wiser moves. Isolating oneself is a classic symptom of addiction, and not healthy at all. If one of you would ask Michel to reinstate me I would be grateful. I promise to behave myself.
>
>The first thing I should do is twit (name redacted by obvious). It's on me for letting that putz get under my skin but he has.
>
>Here's hoping you are all well. I am much better than yesterday.

>Mike"

>Michel, if you read this, please reinstate Mike.
>
>I don't think the redacted person was the cause of anything and I can't imagine twitting anybody (don't think I even know how) but then getting under my skin would require a K-Bar and some serious chops <s>

>>I guess you missed the years where everyone here took the light-handed approach of support and recommended counseling (even sent him links to many sites and places near him) and some phoned him for support. The warm fuzzy approach did nothing for him at all and he finally admitted it here. That is when some folks (me included) started calling him on it (and his behavior) and pushed for treatment. According to Mike's posts here, he is actually attending AA meetings and has a sponsor. Many think he needs more than that and have told him so, but in the end it is his decision.

>>>On a very serious note, Mike is wrestling with a Bear at the moment and he is loosing the battle, we need to help him in some way, he is spiralling downwards at an ever increasing rate.
>>>
>>>I have seen similar things in the past and without intervention the end result can be terminal.
>>>
>>>> I must admit he was be a bit over the top with the last few threads, where you were being quite constructive.

>>>>Anyway the bad blood goes back a way doesn't it, and he wasn't going to let it go.
>>>>
>>>>What's funny is that he said to Michel, "I'm going crazy right now"...well, people who are going crazy are often going to say things that don't make a ton of sense.
>>>>
>>>>So what's odd is that, on the one hand, Mike would defend to the death some of his comments, and yet say to someone else that he's going crazy. But maybe that isn't odd, and to be expected. I hope he gets the help he needs.

>>>>I don't know if you're familiar with bad American television, but in the 70's there was a TV show called Soap, and a ventriloquist named Jay Johnson and the "dummy" named Bob. Well, I can be Bob (yes, I realize I just compared myself to a dummy).....cynical wisecracks and clever but highly inappropriate humor.....except that when Bob was around Jody's daughter Wendy, Bob showed his softer side and often went to pieces when talking about her. I'm Bob. :)
