I have seen too many responses to posts without someone having really read through the issue nor probably attempting to duplicate it on his or her system. I had a record locking problem between VFP 5.0 and FPD 2.6 on a table that VFP had open only for a SQL. A MVP and well known developer hear asked me if I had SET EXCL OFF; well, the issue was record locking--not "File in Use" or "File Access Denied". After changing the VFP code to include the NOUPDATE clause in the USE, my problem disappeared, but I figured that out myself...
So, I shouldn't have singled any one person, but I think more people should think through something before posting a flippant response... But then I didn't, did I?
