Thank you. I think from some previous experience changing with ALTER TABLE instead of doing it in the DESIGN is faster.

>By default SSMS 2008 does not allow table changes that require the table to be dropped and recreated. However some changes can only be done this way. I would disable that check but keep in mind that such changes could be slow on big tables.
