Thanks, I realized that after testing and finding the "preview" option appeared on line 2 of the string. I did try strtran(), but I was not successful in using it. I did not try chrtran() however.

Manually editing the memo field was the solution in this case.

The answer (I think) to the printing of the report output to the inside of the calling form had to do with the legacy form not handling "set talk off".
