Hi Peter. Servoy is an application server, and licensing is runtime based, much like SQL Server or other database or application servers. You can build an app with the free community edition. To sell a commercial app, you need a license for the developer edition of Servoy, which is the same as the community version functionally. The community and developer editions include an application server for development and testing only.
To deploy a Servoy application, it's $349 (less based on number of license) per user of the app - concurrent users. You can host the Servoy server on your own server, or host it in the cloud (like Amazon cloud services or other). The new offer is a subscription sharing model. You build an app and then charge a subscription server per user, and do a revenue share per user with Servoy without having to buy any runtime licenses. But sure to check out the Intro screencast I did (slides only) at
http://servoy.com/foxpro. And for additional pricing questions, I suggest you contact
sales@servoy.com.
