Make a sub-class of your base textbox control and set the properties for BackColor/ForeColor, TabStop, etc. correctly. Then drop this control on your form instead of your base textbox control.

I do not want the user to be able to edit these textboxes manually, ie they must not be able to change these values, but the values must still be displayed. The values in this textboxes will have a different BackColor/ForeColor to the rest of the boxes that can be edited.
