That's like saying that the Westfield mall operators don't get off their arses and and actually sell stuff in the mall. But they do own the facility and they do take steps to ensure that they maximize returns, even down to claiming a share of tenant profits in addition to rent in many cases- a "tax" if you like. The taker/maker terminology doesn't fly once you consider that the Australian people own the mall and that the miners' business actually is to take pieces of the mall and sell it.

I quoted figures from government and industry dealing with "effective" tax rates rather than an attempt to portray grievance by adding in payroll taxes and other taxes apart from corporate tax.

Sheesh, it's your mall so if you want to allow the "makers" to pay under-market rents while they sell pieces of your mall until there's nothing left, go to it.
