From time to time I use things in Visual Foxpro that I have little understanding of but since things work pretty well I don't worry about them. Take the read events command I've used in my applications.... things appear to be working fine but to be honest I can't remember where I read or whom told me to use this command and why.

What is the purpose behind using the read events ? I've assumed you want to alter the normal flow of events and to force events on the opening form to execute first.
