I don't use any of the cute tricks, like making the main form modal so it stays open - and keeps the app open - until the > user closes the form.

>Actually I wasn't trying anything cute..... I just wanted the child to remain active until it was closed. Usually this was a maintenance of some sort and if the user was in the middle of edits I didn't want them to be able to go back to the Main form or menu and go into something else before finishing what they were doing and all I meant to Hilmar was that I was pretty sure if you traced execution of the 2 cases you'd see execution different from what I was expecting. In any case I'm always interested in knowing if something is or could be handled differently and why.
Ewww. Not me. :)
I want to find one or two good ways to handle things and know the reasons why not to use other ways.
