However, you've got one extra layer in your code there, since you're using MM and perhaps the problem lies there ... either a bug in MM (not likely) or the manner in which you're attempting to use the MM methods. Not having ever used MM, I have no idea *how* you're supposed to use it, but I'm sure there's got to be a way to access an output parameter.
I see in another post that you worked around it and did it differently. That's ok, but surely you would like to know the correct way to handle this in case you ever really do need that functionality!
Perhaps an MM user would like to chime in with an answer for you ...
