I see what you mean. In the past with VS2008, I was able to bring Graphics files into the project with just copying them in to either the same folder as the Web Forms, or into a separate Graphics folder; and they would show up in the project, if you hit the "Show All Items..." button in the Solution Explorer.

I just now used "Add Existing Item..." to the project for a couple of the GIF files I needed for a couple Web Forms, and what you said worked.
