in Win7 I wouldn't use Favorites anymore. M$ invented the 'Libraries' for this.
All you have to do is Rightclick a Directory and select the menue entry with 'add to library' or something similar (I don't know the american version). 'add to library' holds a submenue with all existing libraries. So just select one or create a new one. Afterwards you can access the previous directory over 'Libraries' in the left panel and: You get a treeview, too! :-)
