Being in Canada, I get automatically redirected to google.ca but I'm not seeing your problem (can you post a screen shot)?
Unexpected redirects are a common symptom of browser hijacking malware. For example, something may have injected an entry into your HOSTS file so google.com is being pointed to a malicious site that is crafted to look like Google. That site can then control your entire browsing experience of anything you access through "FakeGoogle".
One tool I've found useful for malware removal is
